The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs for External Relations and Information, Muhammad Nasser Al-Mutairi, said:
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced a number of instructions accompanying the implementation of the decision to lift the precautionary measures in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
Al-Mutairi added in a press statement that the most important developments include canceling prayer permits in the Grand Mosque and permits to visit the mosque of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his two companions, may God be pleased with them, and the continuation of issuing permits to perform Umrah and visit the honorable kindergarten.
And Al-Mutairi added, in addition to the need to note that the application of social distancing measures has been stopped in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, the continuation of the obligation to wear a mask while present in them, and the abolition of the requirement to submit a negative result for an approved (PCR) examination or an approved examination for developments in the Corona virus.
Al-Mutairi pointed out that the verification of the immunization status for entry to the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque for all pilgrims has been canceled and the requirement to register immunization data to obtain an Umrah permit in the event of coming from outside the Kingdom, meaning that vaccination is not required to perform Umrah, as well as the requirement of institutional quarantine and home quarantine. Al-Mutairi said that these procedures and instructions are subject to continuous evaluation by the competent health authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to the developments in the epidemiological situation, which calls for all pilgrims from the State of Kuwait to take them into account and abide by all its provisions.
